Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tours Driving is a great way to begin your journey of desert country, especially when touring the Grand Canyon and its surrounding scenery. During this Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour, you'll easily run through a roll of film or fill the memory on your camera traveling through the southwest desert and taking in sights like the Hoover Dam and the 900-year-old Joshua Tree Forest. As you gaze at the views, listen and take in some history of the area's earliest inhabitants from your driver/guide. Upon arrival at the Canyon, the Hualapai Indians will provide you with a guided tour of the Rim. During your time at the West rim, there are several optional upgrades to enhance your tour experience. ~ Photo stop at Hoover Dam Optional Upgrades SKYWALK - Get amazing views of the Grand Canyon from the world famous Skywalk bridge. The Skywalk is a horseshoe shaped cantilever bridge on the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area. The elevation at the Skywalk's location is 4,770 ft (1,450 m). The height of the precisely vertical drop directly under the skywalk is between 500 ft (150 m) and 800 ft (240 m). It's a spectacular view! HELICOPTER TOUR & PONTOON BOAT RIDE - Board a helicopter for some wide-eyed excitement as you take flight on a thrilling 4,000 foot drop into the depths of the Canyon. After landing on the floor, you'll walk to your boat for a 20 minute ride on the mighty Colorado River. After the boat ride, you'll head topside once again to enjoy your barbecue lunch overlooking views of the Canyon and the Colorado River. PLEASE NOTE: Due to comfort and critical weight/balance issues with helicopters, passengers weighing over 275 lbs. will be required to purchase an additional comfort seat ($100).
